The HAMMOND ORGAN

North Suburban HAMMOND ORGAN Society

Do you have a HAMMOND ORGAN that is no longer working right?

Do any of these apply to your Hammond musical instrument situation?

Distortion, dull-sounding, choppy "motorboating" vibrato, no vibrato, won't start, missing notes, peculiar mechanical noises from console, no reverb, blows fuses, smokes, excessive power humming? No percussion, pedal notes sounding continuously, pedal tones missing,

Then we can probably help you.

We service the following makes of Hammond organ.

Very Early Hammonds:  A, AV, B, BV, BC, BCV, CV, D, DV, E, RT, including the Hammond Solovox

Later Hammonds:  B2, B3, C2, C3, RT2, RT3, M3, A-100, H-100, T series, X66.

We also repair the following non-Hammond instruments.

Gulbransen console Model E, and some Gulbransen spinets also. Wurlitzer electrostatic models, including 4410 spinets, 4600 series consoles, model 4800 console, and early "orgatron" models. We have the capability of machining replacement brass electrostatic reed tone generators for these models and fabrication of other specialty mechanical parts.

In short, we service the complete line of traditional tone wheel Hammonds plus the X66 model and Gulbransen and Wurlitzer instruments of the same vintage. Sorry, we do not service any other brands or later model Hammonds using LSI technology. If you're in New England, we can probably come to your location. If you're in another part of the USA, we would ask you to ship the instrument to us. Likewise, if adding sustain to pedals, or X66 style percussion or MIDI capability, we also \require the instrument to be shipped to us as these procedures involve work too extensive to be done in a customer's location. Note, there are two ways of adding TrekII pedal sustain. American way=TrekII replaces original Hammond pedal tones. European way=retains original Hammond pedal voices and polyphonic functionality.

Among other Hammond tasks, we do: vibrato line box capacitor replacement, vibrato scanner repairs, mechanical repairs to tone wheel generators, synchronous and starting motors, keyboard and pedalboard refelting. We can add harp sustain percussion to traditional Hammonds, install TrekII percussion and string bass units for pedals, and other accessories. We also repair necklace reverb units and (early) fluid-column reverb repairs. We also repair Hammond Solovoxes, and the following Maas-Rowe percussion accessories: M-R Vibrachime, and M-R Vibrachord. We can add digital signal processors and modern speaker systems along with adaptation of instrument to play through your music stereo system, and repair traditional Leslie Speakers. If Hammond or Leslie made it prior to 1974, we can most likely repair it! 40+ years' experience servicing [and playing] traditional Hammonds in both residential and commercial installations. The best auto mechanics are also great drivers. Shouldn't your Hammond repair person also know how to play?
