Some years ago, the Hammond company got Eddie Layton, the master of Hammond special effects to play a demo LP record to showcase the X66 which I purchased immediately upon its release. After listening to [Larson's] CD, I think that Eric has done a significantly better job at showcasing interesting and unusual effects possible on the X66. I am very happy to have this CD in my collection of Hammond recordings. It is definitely top-shelf, both in technique, interpretation and musicianship. —John W.

I always enjoyed the musical style of Ken Griffin. I often wondered what advances in playing would Ken have made if his life had not been cut short at a young age. Eric appears to have taken the Griffin style a lot further, with the same accurate steady beat, but with many more interesting nuances like key changes, improvisations and other enhancements. This is definitely a CD that I play a lot, and I think that for anyone who likes the Hammond organ, this CD should be a part of your recording collection. —Jan van de Hoeven.

...This man [Larson] has somehow succeeded in making a Hammond sound incredibly like a theater pipe organ. Now, if he will someday make a recording on a real theater pipe organ, I will be the first to puchase it. I am impressed at what he has done with the Hammond X66. I really can't say that I have a favorite track on this CD. I like all of them. —Francis X. McHugh

WOW! Play this through a good stereo and you have got a sound like you won't believe. This guy really knows his chosen instrument and how to make it do stuff that I have never been able to copy and I've had an X66 in my house for years. How does he do it? It almost does seem like magic. I'm back to practicing an hour a day now after getting this CD. Next time when business takes me to Massachusetts, I'm going to make it a point to go visit the NSHOS and hope I can run into Eric at one of the club meetings. —Aneke Jongen
